PM ALARMS NOW OFFERS "VIDEO VERIFIED RESPONSE"

April 14, 2008, CHATTANOOGA, TN. PM Alarms, LLC local central station now offers video verification. Video verification aids authorities to apprehend suspects in the act and to eliminate the cause of false alarms. How video verification works:

  • When an alarm is triggered, a video clip is sent instantly to PM Alarms' local monitoring center from designated cameras. Video clips are sent of what happened before and after the alarm was triggered.  PM Alarms' local monitoring center can advise the authorities as to the location of alarm PLUS a "live" visual description of the suspect, approximately how many suspects, what suspect is wearing and dispatch as "verified burglary or holdup alarm in progress".   PM  Alarms can view cameras "live" after the alarm is triggered. PM Alarms can maintain a "live" video feed until authorities arrive in order to provide additional information. However, if this was a false alarm caused by a animal, weather, etc., PM Alarms local monitoring center will be able to verify the cause of alarm resulting in not dispatching authorities on false alarms.  Please call (423)870-3272 for a free consultation.

Steve Castello takes knowledge of big business to PM Alarms by Erin Zwirn, associate editor

March 16, 2006, CHATTANOOGA, TN.  After working for a large security company, Steve Castello went back to local business, with a team of seasoned players. In less than two years, he's bought two alarm companies located on the same road.

Castello bought Hamilton Alarm, a full-service alarm company, a year-and one-half ago. Its neighbor, PM Alarm, a similar business with a larger account base, had a central station and monitored Hamilton's accounts. Thanks to the purchase for an undisclosed amount in 2005, the companies are now under one roof and the monitoring station remains local. The merge created PM Alarm LLC. The company has thousands of accounts and a reach spanning Tennessee and parts of Georgia.

The idea of being local and accessible to the customer appealed to Castello, who was a former vice president and general manager of the Chattanooga, Tenn., Sonitrol branch. It's now a national company, but at the time it was independently owned.

"I can't tell you when somebody local in this area has bought an alarm company. It has always been large corporations. Always someone out of town, and the first thing they do is close the local monitoring stations and move them out of state," he said.

Castello wanted a change of pace, and wanted to see more local activity for large-scale applications. Castello used his past experience of organizing large commercial applications at Sonitrol to nudge PM Alarms into the fast growing Bradley County, Hamilton County and North Georgia market.

"We just spent over $20,000 for software upgrades at the local monitoring center and equipment for back-up sources to get the montitoring center to what I call up-to-par," Castello said. The upgrade will be able to accommodate what the monitoring center plans to handle in the future.

Castello is confident the company will boom as time goes on. Internally, he organized a team of veteran sales, installation and central station employees who provide local service. "But I only see it getting better when it comes to putting the right people in the right position."

Two Chattanooga Security Companies Merge

Feb 14, 2006, CHATTANOOGA, TN -- Steve Castello, a former Sonitrol manager who purchased Hamilton Alarms about 1 1/2 years ago, recently purchased PM Alarm in Chattanooga, Tenn., from Pete Roberts. Castello says he intends to keep the combined company’s monitoring station local.

“With local monitoring, you get to know what the weather conditions are, and you’re familiar with police departments. We get to know our customers,” Castello told the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Castello maintains that sales are expected to hit $1.1 million at the end of this year and expected to triple in three to five years. The company has 17 employees and approximately 2,800 alarm clients. Don Helms, security consultant for PM Alarm, says the company’s business is split between commercial and residential.
